Synthetic Grass vs Real Grass
Synthetic Grass
Saves Water in California
Martinez Care not only installs
synthetic grass Los Angeles to Thousand Oaks,
but also care about saving water. One of the main differences
between synthetic grass vs. real grass is water!
Synthetic grass does not need watered and stays
green all year. Sythetic grass may not be natural, but it looks
real and helps the enviroment by cutting back on pesticides,
fertilizers, and mowing. There is also 100% recyclable synthetic
grass that can be completetly recycled after its
use.
In today's generation lawns can be
natural or synthetic grass. Natural grass grows in many places
mainly depending of the climate, conditio,n and maintenance.
However, synthetic grass lawns are made to simulate natural grass
with a great variety of looks and density for specific
applications. For your best interest we list below some benefits
and disadvantages of synthetic grass and natural grass.
Advantages of a
Synthetic Grass
- Synthetic grass
is evergreen through all seasons!
- Reduce water
consumption and eliminates the use of pesticides.
- Weeds cannot
pass through synthetic grass
- Recycling
friendly artificial lawns provide uses for recycled
tires
- Less expensive
to maintain than real grass
- Provides many
more hours of use
- Great solution
when the environment is particularly hostile to natural grass, like
arid environment, little natural light, snow etc.
- Artificial turf
can withstand significantly more use than natural grass and can
therefore be used much more frequently. This allows sports ground
owners to generate more income from their facilities.
- Ideal on
vacation homes when maintenance of lawns is not practical. It is
also a solution for elderly home-owners who find the upkeep of
lawns too much hard work.
- Some artificial
turf requires infill such as silicon sand and/or
granulated rubber. Some granulated rubber is made from
recycled car tires. Alternative sources of infill may provide a
safer solution.
- There is some
evidence that periodic disinfection of artificial turf is required
as pathogens are not broken down by natural processes in the same
manner as natural grass. Despite this, a 2006 study suggests
certain microbial life is less active in artificial
turf.
- Friction between
skin and older generations of artificial turf can cause abrasions
and/or burns to a much greater extent than natural grass.
However, some third-generation artificial grasses almost completely
eliminate this risk by the use of polyethylene yarn.
- Artificial turf
tends to retain heat from the sun and can be hotter than natural
grass with prolonged exposure to the sun. This can be reduced by
the application of water prior to use of the playing
field.
- Line markings
for differing sports are sewn into artificial turf, making line
markings permanent. In most cases with natural grass, line markings
can be painted on with temporary paint and removed (washed away) or
it dissipates with rain or general irrigation. turf does have its
downside: limited life, periodic cleaning requirements,
- Life of
synthetic turf is 10 to 15 years
- Initial
investment of synthetic grass is much higher than natural
grass
- Some artificial
turf systems allow for the integration of fiber-optic fibers into
the turf. This would allow for lighting or advertisements to be
directly embedded in a playing surface, or runway lighting to be
embedded in artificial landing surfaces for aircraft.
- Free your time
from gardening do what you love to do!
Benefits
of Natural Grass
- Grass surfaces
are resilient, renewable, water-permeable
- Reduce noise
levels and improve air quality
- Potential for
long life, with proper maintenance.
- Less expensive
to install than simulated grass
Disadvantages of Natural
Grass
- Natural turf can
die
- Real grass beats
down easily and dries slowly - limiting playing time
- It is expensive
to maintain including expenditures of water, lawn chemicals,
gasoline farm owners and extensive hand labor
- A lot of water
consumption
